Following the tasting of the great 2018s described here, I was able to compare by tasting the wines from the superb 2017 vintage.
Harvesting in 2017 began on 30 August. The wines were bottled between 30 April and 3 May 2019. All the alcohols are around 13º.
2017 Meursault Bois de Blagny
Steely nose. Mouth is round, spicy, medium-weight, not as expressive today as the 2018. Lemony fruit, more powerful than the 2018, but still very racy. 12.8º alcohol. 92/A
2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chalumaux
Medium-light in weight, intense, lemony, nervous. Richness but finesse. The first parcel to be harvested in 2017. 92+/A
2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny
Saline in nose and mouth. Steely in mouth, rainwater purity, elegant, intense, mineral. 93+/A
2017 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru Les Genelottes
Slight butter along with lime in nose. Mouth is steely and nervy, medium weight, citric. Some power but also finesse. Length and density. 94/A
And to compare great vintages:
2014 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru Les Genelottes
Butter aromas. In mouth, fabulous energy, balance, purity, clarity, electricity, Great depth to citric fruits. Magnificent. 95/A+
