Information on vintage conditions is here.

This is a small, but impressive, collection of wines.

2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges     1er Cru   Aux Thorey
De Montille’s superb Nuits-Thorey has spicy dark and red fruits. The wine is medium- to medium-full in weight, smooth in texture, long, and crunchy in its fruit. Two-thirds whole clusters, 50% new oak, chalk soils. Frost damage was severe, with a loss of about 45%. (93-96)

2016 Clos-Vougeot
The Clos-Vougeot features intense dark fruits, a smooth texture, good freshness, and quite a bit of power. The soils here have heavy clay, and so de Montille used 1/3 whole clusters to freshen the wine up. The vines are about 50 years-old. Half new oak. Malolactic fermentation was late, finishing in September. (92-95)

2016 Vosne-Romanée    1er Cru   Aux Malconsorts
The “regular" Vosne-Malconsorts is mineral and pure with dark fruits. The wine is firm and energetic, yet also shows good elegance, something one doesn’t always see in Malconsorts. Two-thirds whole clusters, 55-60% new oak. Malolactic fermentation only finished in mid-October. (93-96)

2016 Vosne-Romanée    1er Cru   Aux Malconsorts   Cuvée Christiane
From an enclave in La Tâche, the Malconsorts  cuvée Christiane features intense, spicy dark fruit aromas and flavors. The mouth shows great complexity and layering with a finer structure than the other Malconsors and an overall airy presentation. Two-thirds whole clusters, about 60% new oak. (95-98)
