Domaine David DUBAND/François FEUILLET (Chavigny) 2016 Part II -- Grands Crus Tasted from Barrel

(Originally published 21 February 2018)

Background information on the vintage at Duband is located here.

As I mentioned in the previous post, these wines may be sold under either the David Duband or the François Feuillet label.

2016 Echézeaux
The Echézeaux features dark fruits and minerality. The wine is pure, long, and sensual. From the Rouges du Bas lieu-dit. (92-96)

2016 Clos de la Roche
Duband’s Clos de la Roche, from vines that formerly were Domaine Truchot-Martin, is dark in fruit, energetic, nervy, and powerful. It is a classic of the appellation.  (93-97)

2016 Mazoyères-Chambertin
The Mazoyères-Chambertin had formerly been designated Charmes-Chambertin in Duband’s lineup. These vines, too, come from the old Truchot-Martin domaine. The wine has dark fruits with the slight gaminess of the vineyard, and it shows good energy and tension. (92-95)

2016 Latricières-Chambertin
The nose of the Latricières-Chambertin is floral. In the mouth, the wine shows dark fruits that are fresh and pure, and there’s a touch of licorice here, too. (92-95)

2016 Chambertin
The Chambertin vies with the Clos de la Roche for top wine in the cellar. The dark fruits are mineral, fresh, and pure. (93-96)
