My introduction to the vintage at Bouchard P&F is here.
All whites have DIAM closures, which Bouchard has found to stop premature oxidation.
2018 Bourgogne Réserve Chardonnay
Pure focused minerality, steeliness in nose. Round, adequate but not great concentration, mineral, fresh, yellow fruits, nice length and texture. 8-10% new oak here. Delicious. Almost 100% from vineyards near Puligny and Meursault. (88-90)
2018 Beaune du Château 1er Cru
Hazelnut nose. Firm, smooth, elegant, smooth, attractive for early drinking. Lime fruit. Finesse. Great for restaurants. Domaine wine. (90-92)
2018 Beaune 1er Cru Clos Saint-Landry
Purchased in 1791, but first vintage bottled separately 1985. Monopole. Have never seen any premox with Clos St-Landry. Smooth with hazelnuts, moderate acidity and concentration, but welcoming, attractive for early drinking. Domaine wine. (90-92)
2018 Meursault
Large portion from close to Moulin aux Moînes, Les Forges, also Tessons, Casses-Têtes, Narvaux. Freshness, lime and peach, medium-weight, good development in mouth. Pure, but not the concentration of 2017. For early drinking. Domaine wine. (90-92)
2018 Meursault Les Clous
Always for late harvesting, same altitude as Corton-Charlemagne and Le Corton. Medium-light in weight, minerality, not quite the richness of the previous, some peach fruit. Good freshness and length in mouth. Can drink or age. Domaine wine. (90-92)
2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières
Light, pure, dusty Genevrières nose and mouth. Not the concentration of 2017, but lots of charm here for early drinking. Domaine wine. (92-94)
2018 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières
Stony Perrières nose. More concentration, some peach, but not great depth. Some tension. Domaine wine. (91-94)
2018 Chevalier-Montrachet
The vintage is imposed on the terroir in the style of this wine, but can see the terroir. Finesse, elegance, but rounder, less deep, less nervy than usual. Domaine wine. (92-94)
2018 Montrachet
Deep, pure, focused, essence of Chardonnay with peach fruit and minerality, medium-weight. Very good acidity, depth. Bouchard now picks this vineyard later than it used to. Domaine wine. (93-96)
2018 Corton-Charlemagne
Wild, floral nose. Wild fruits in mouth, dense, red fruits, grapefruits. Dense. Nervy. Like Montrachet, pick later than before. Vineyard is 100% east-facing in Ladoix (Tollot-Beaut, Faiveley are there, too). Domaine wine. (93-95)
