As I mentioned in my introduction to the 2018 GGs, an increasing number of producers are holding wines back to present a year (or in Loosen’s case below, several years) after the vintage to give the wine more time in bottle.

Very stony nose. Stony, intense, pure, deep, nervy, energetic, powerful. 92/A

White peach nose, firmness, medium-weight, yellow peach flavors. 92/A

Just enough RS to give roundness. Spicy, stony, nervy, austere. Will last for decades. 92/A



S. A. PRÜM

2017 (Bernkastel) Lay Riesling GG
Yellow peach skin flavor and aroma, medium-light. Pleasant but not profound. 91/A-
