2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges
The village Nuits has red and dark fruits with minerality, some power, good concentration, salinity, and length. Four of the five vineyard sources are on from north of the town of Nuits (Côte de Vosne), the other from just below Pruliers. (91-93)
2017 Chambolle-Musigny
This is classic Chambolle-Musigny with red and dark fruits, elegance, length, a smooth texture, and supreme finesse. (91-93)
2017 Vosne-Romanée
The Vosne-Romanée is a classic of its village, too, setting a perfect comparison to the Chambolle. The wine has oriental spices, a smooth texture, good concentration, and attractive salinity. (92-94)
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin
The last of these four excellent village wines, the Gevrey-Chambertin shows wild Gevrey red fruits, good concentration, depth, smoothness, length, and minerality. (91-93)
2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès
The Nuits-Procès has darker fruits than the preceding wines, some chocolate overtones, density, concentration, and a smooth texture. (91-94)
2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Drouhin's Chambolle 1er Cru has spices in the nose. The mouth is saline with violets and a smooth texture. It is a supremely elegant and outstanding wine. The grapes come from the following vineyards: Feusselottes, Borniques, Hauts-Doix, Plantes, Combottes, Beaux Bruns, and Noirots. (93-95)
2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Drouhin is seeking to make this cuvée a partner to the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru. The wine has violet aromas and flavors with red fruits also showing on the palate. The wine is smooth, pure, and elegant. The grapes come from Petits Monts (not the vines owned by Véronique Drouhin-Boss and reviewed below), Malconsorts, and Chaumes. (92-94)
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur
This wine is the result of a new long-term contract that Drouhin has entered into with a grower. The wine is nervy with good, tension, minerality, and energy and it has violet overtones. (92-94)
2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Petits Monts
Always outstanding, the Vosne-Petits Monts has floral red fruit aromas. The mouth is dense and concentrated with red and dark fruits. The wine is long and very elegant. 40% whole clusters here (93-96)
2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes
The nose here is floral with some spice. The mouth is focused and pure with red fruits and minerality. 35% whole clusters. (93-95)
2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses
The nose and mouth of the Amoureuses show spice and red fruits. The wine is pure, long, smooth, and precise. It is a classic Amoureuses. (94-96)
