Background on the vintage at Jadot is located here.
2016 Santenay Gatsulard (Domaine Gagey)
Less fashionable appellations, such as Santenay (even at the village level, as here and the Clos de Malte below) can provide excellent value, a good antidote to all the complaints one hears about rising prices for Burgundy. This wine is dense pure, and smooth with red fruits. (87-90)
2016 Santenay Clos de Malte (Domaine Louis Jadot)
The Santenay, Clos de Malte has floral and violet aromas. The mouth is dense, pure, intense, and concentrated with dark fruits. (88-91)
2016 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru La Croix de Pierre (Domaine Louis Jadot)
Here the floral nose is followed by a dense body, intensity, iodide, a smooth texture, and good length. (89-92)
2016 Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Barre
Technically, this wine is a négociant wine, although as a practical matter, Jadot is fully in charge of this monopole vineyard. The wine is dense with pleasing red fruits and minerality, and it is light on the palate. (90-93)
2016 Pommard 1er Cru Clos de la Commaraine
Jadot has been exploiting this monopole for some years now, but in November 2017, an American couple who already have operations in both Burgundy and Champagne acquired the property, so 2016 is the next-to-last vintage for Jadot. The nose has soy aromas. The mouth is medium-light and intense with penetration and dusty dark fruits. (89-92)
2016 Corton-Pougets (Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot)
The Corton-Pougets has typical mineral, stony aromas. The mouth is mineral and light on the palate with good tension and penetration. This is a wine that takes some patience, but then rewards it. Normal yield in 2016. (92-95)
