Domaine TAWSE (Nuits-Saint-Georges) -- Part II: Whites Tasted from Tank

(Originally published December 2017)

As with the Marchand-Tawse wines, there are fewer appellations in white than in red for Domaine Tawse, but that does not diminish the quality at all.

2016 Savigny-les-Beaune    1er Cru   Les Vergelesses
2016 is the third vintage for Domaine Tawse with this appellation. The wine is chunky in texture, but there is also some finesse here. Nice minerality, making for a very good wine, characteristic of the whites of Savigny. (89-92)

2016 Chassagne-Montrachet    1er Cru   Morgeot   Abbaye de Morgeot
The mineral nose here gets this wine off to a most promising start. The mouth shows mineral and lime flavors with purity, length, and finesse. This is a wine worth looking for. (91-95)

2016 Puligny-Montrachet    1er Cru    Champ Gain
The Champ Gain has some butter elements in the nose. The mouth is medium-light with edgy minerality, some citric fruit, and great energy. (91-94)

2016 Corton-Charlemagne
From a south-facing exposition, this wine is butter in the nose and mouth. Additionally, there are lime flavors to go with a combination of power and finesse. The texture is oily, but with good acidity, the wine does not lose its characteristic steeliness. (91-95)
