(Please see my overview of the 2018 vintage in Burgundy here.)
Harvesting for estate red wines began on 3 September in Beaune (some of the whites, which I did not have time to taste, were picked the preceding weekend). Harvest lasted to 13 September for domaine wines, selected negociant wines picked after that.

Malo-lactic fermentations were variable, none started before the alcoholic fermentations had finished. There are some very ripe wines here that will not please lovers of classic Burgundies, but the wines from the former Domaine Maume have turned out very well.
2018 Beaune 1er Cru Les Tuvilains
Very ripe dark fruits, smooth, not terribly concentrated. Some salinity. 20% new oak, 30% whole cluster— same for other Beaunes. (86-88)
2018 Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roy
Floral, dark fruit nose. Very ripe mouth, but less so than Clos du Roy. Dark fruits. Grapy. (86-88)
2018 Beaune 1er Cru Les Teurons
Not as tremendously ripe as previous two wines, more structure, good depth. Dark fruits. (88-90)
2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Frémiets
Ripe dark fruits, smooth, round texture. Bigger than Frémiets usually is. (88-91)
2018 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières
Dark fruits, round, smooth, some penetration. (88-90)
2018 Musigny
Dark fruits, intense, deep. Still not sensual. Less developed than other wines. 100% destemmed, all by hand. 13.5% alcohol. (92-94)
From the former Domaine B. Maume in Gevrey-Chambertin:
2018 Gevrey-Chambertin
Dark fruits, good freshness, medium-weight, nervosity, Gevrey wildness. Ripe, but not as ripe-feeling as previous wines. Close to 14% alcohol, about 15% whole clusters. Picked after grands crus and villages. (91-93)
2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Etelois
All destemmed. Red cherry, great freshness. 13.8% alcohol, but don’t feel it. (91-93)
2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux
Ripe, red cherry fruit, excellent energy. 13.1%. About 20% whole cluster. (92-94)
2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux-St-Jacques
Dark fruit, energetic. Slight sappiness to the fruit. 13.4% alcohol. 100% destemmed. First year since Tawse acquired the vineyard that it has made a full crop from this vineyard. (92-95)
2018 Mazoyères-Chambertin
Dark fruit, freshness, crispness, energy. One of the best Mazoyères/Charmes-Chambertins I’ve had from this plot under either the Tawse or the Maume (going back to the 1970s) label. 100% destemmed. 13.6% alcohol. (93-95)
2018 Mazis-Chambertin
Dense, deep, pure, energetic, wild, blackberry, some roundness. 13.4% alcohol. 12% whole bunch (all from the oldest plot of vines). (93-95)
