Vincent Guillemot said that harvesting began on 2 September, first with the reds, then finishing with the white. The red Bourgogne was the last of the reds to be harvested because of the large yield that delayed maturation.
Malo-lactic fermentations were quick, finishing in December. The Corton and the Savigny-Serpentières were made with 50% whole clusters, the rest of the reds with 10% whole clusters.
In general, these look to be very attractive wines that should drink well young.
2017 Bourgogne Pinot Noir
We begin with the Bourgogne — tasted from tank but at a time when part of the production had already been bottled. The wine is light with minerality, some rust, and red fruits. 86/B
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune
This wine is from all Guillemot’s village holdings except the Grands Picotins. Also tasted from tank but scheduled for a somewhat later bottling, this wine has cassis and strawberry aromas and flavors. The wine is light on the palate but not dilute, and it shows plenty of charm for early drinking. (88-90)
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune vieilles vignes
This wine was already in bottle when I tasted it. It shows very pure and precise red currant fruit and very good energy. 92/A
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons
The Savigny-Narbantons has dark fruits, good concentration and density with some power and good length. (89-91)
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Jarrons
Guillemot’s Savigny-Jarrons is less dense than the Narbantons, but has finesse to its dark fruits. The wine is long with lightness on the palate. (90-92)
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières
The nose of the Savigny-Serpentières has floral and strawberry elements. The mouth shows good freshness and acidity and is medium-weight and smooth with cassis and strawberry fruit. (91-93)
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Gravains
Guillemot’s Savigny-Gravains has dark fruit aromas and flavors. The mouth is medium-light with nervosity, length, and some tannins. (90-93)
2017 Corton En Rognet
The Corton features dark and red fruit aromas and flavors along with some rose. This wine is relatively light for Corton but shows good concentration. (92-95)
And in white, already in bottle:
2017 Savigny-les-Beaune
This wine is from Pinot Blanc, planted in 1959. The wine is rich in texture and has almond aromas and flavors with minerality, purity, and precision. A wine definitely to scoop up, should you come across it, both for its quality and its originality. 92/A
