2015 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiet
This wine shows plenty of weight for a Frémiet, but it retains the stony texture and stony red fruits plus penetration that typify the terroir of the vineyard. 94/A
2015 Volnay 1er Cru Champans
The Champans features Champans juicy dark fruits as well as some tannins. Overall, its quite elegant for Champans, which can often veer to the fleshy. 93+/A
2015 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs
Last, the monopole Clos des Ducs has the hard structure typical of the vineyard with excellent depth. The wine is medium-light and shows dark fruits. As one would expect, it is a wine that needs time — I’d expect 15-20 years for this wine really to come around. 94+/A
