As I mentioned in my notes on Domaine Louis Boillot & Fils, son Clément worked with Ghislaine for the 2018 vintage and has taken over as of the 2019 vintage.
Harvesting here began on 26 August. Yields were in the range of 30-35 hl/ha, about 25-30% less than in 2017. Malo-lactic fermentations finished in January and February.
As always, splendid wines here. The range of premiers crus has increased to eleven.
2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Bons Bâtons
Pretty, pure dark fruits and violets in the nose. Violets and dark fruits continue in the mouth, good weight, freshness, and energy. “Les Bons Bâtons” is the name of the lieu-dit where the vines are located, but it does not appear on the label in all markets. (90-92)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny
Nose of violets -- deeper and denser than that of the Bourgogne. Mouth is deep and dense with violets, freshness. Good structure. Will need a bit of time in bottle. (91-94)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Combottes
Pure, crystalline purple fruits, good depth, lighter perhaps than the village wine. (91-94)

Red fruits, pure, precise, fresh, delicacy. (92-94)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Beaux Bruns
First parcel harvested in 2018. 70 year-old vines. Earthy dark fruit nose. Dark fruits in mouth, rich, pure, more power and volume than foregoing wines. (91-94)

Dark plum nose. Mouth has intense dark fruits, power, some salinity, freshness. (92-95)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes
Round, spicy dark fruits, length, some power, touch of licorice. (93-95)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers
Racy, pure, spicy, penetrating dark fruit, energetic, airier than previous wines. Rare -- only one barrel (300 bottles). (93-95)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Gruenchers
Red fruits, fresh, elegant, pure, energetic, airy, minerality, salinity. A ravishing wine. (93-95)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes
Subtle spices in nose. Mouth is ripe and rich, but also airy. Dark fruits, spices, breadth. (93-96)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées
Spicy red fruits, intense, lively, ebullient. (93-96)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Véroilles
Perhaps more weight than usual. Dark, dense fruits. Serious wine that will take time to fully express itself. (93-96)
2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras
Pure, stony, complex, penetrating, well-defined. Very different texture from other wines -- stony; noble structure. (94-96)
