Domaine du CROIX (Beaune) -- 2015 Tasted from Bottle

(Originally published 9 July 2018.)

David Croix has made very good wines whenever I have tasted them. That's certainly the case here, too, although one the whole, these wines were a little below what I had expected; perhaps they'd already begun to shut down.

2015 Savigny-les-Beaune    1er Cru   Les Peuillets
This wine is round, pure, and intense in the nose. The mouth shows dark fruits with red overtones and notable purity. 92/A

2015 Beaune   1er Cru    Les Cent Vignes
The Beaune-Cent Vignes is round with red and dark fruits, medium-light on the palate, medium-weight for density, and it has a smooth texture. 91(+)/A-

2015 Beaune    1er Cru   Les Bressandes
Croix’s Beaune-Bressandes features juicy dark fruits with a medium-light body. The wine is long and round. 90+/B+

2015 Corton   Les Grèves
The Corton-Grèves is medium light in weight with some juiciness to its dark fruits. 91/B
