Domaine de TERREBRUNE -- Current Release Wines and Some Older Re-Releases

This is one of Bandol’s top estates. One attractive aspect is the release of older wines so that customers who don’t have the facilities to cellar wines can nevertheless experience aged wine. The reds are generally 85% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, and 5% Cinsault. Certified organic.

2018 Bandol   white
This wine is smooth and round with length, some minerality, and some vanillin. It is composed 50% of Clairette, the rest of Ugni Blanc and Bourboulenc. 87/B

2015 Bandol  red
The 2015 red is dense, round, deep, and penetrating with iodide flavors and round tannins. It should develop well over the years. 90+/B+

2014 Bandol  red
Terrebrune’s 2014 shows iodide and musk in a nose that is deep and pure. The mouth is elegant and sculpted with dark fruits, length, and purity. 92(+)/A

2011 Bandol   red
The 2011 has a deep nose with musk, iodide, and a touch of iodide. The wine is sculpted and deep with dark fruits. There’s more tannin showing than in the 2014, yet the wine still is elegant. 92(+)/A

2006 Bandol  red
The tannins are beginning to meld in the 2006, but the wine is still quite firm. It is taking on some secondary aspects to its dark fruit and iodide flavors and aromas. It may be in a transitional state and show even better with further aging.  89/B

2018 Bandol rosé
The rosé at Terrebrune is made from direct pressing and contains about 60% Mourvèdre. The nose shows white flowers, while the body is mineral, light, lively, and pure. 91/A
