As I’ve previously mentioned, because of the severe losses in 2016 due to frost damage, I did not do visits in Savigny-les-Beaune to taste 2016s from barrel. On my most recent visit to Domaine Camus-Bruchon, Guillaume Camus generously opened these two 2016s from bottle.
Harvesting in 2016 began around 23 September. The wines were bottled in November 2017.
2016 Savigny-les-Beaune Les Grands Liards
This wine has a rich texture with tannins showing. It is energetic, light on the palate and features fresh dark fruits. It is a wine to keep 5-10+ years before beginning to fully enjoy it. 90/A
2016 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons
The Savigny-Narbantons is fresh with good acidity and focused red berry fruits. But the wine is quite strict, even austere, and needs more time in the bottle. 90/B+
