As I’ve written before, Jean-Charles Lachaux has taken the domaine in a new stylistic direction and is doing an excellent job with it.
2015 Bourgogne Pinot Fin
When I tasted at the estate in November 2016, this wine was already in bottle. At this later tasting, the wine shows well, but not as well as it did back in 2016 — perhaps the fact that this wine was bottle earlier than the others means that it is shutting down earlier. The wine is light with spicy raspberry fruit and plenty of charm. 88/A
2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets
Although just a village vineyard, Les Poisets is well-situated, just below Cailles, one of the best premiers crus in Nuits. The wine shows finesse for Nuits with lightness on the palate, some tannins, and dark fruits. 92/A
2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes
The Vosne-Chaumes has dark fruits, roundness, lightness on the palate, some tannins. There’s also a Chaumes-like four-square aspect to this wine. 91(+)/A-
2015 Latricières-Chambertin
Last, the Latricières-Chambertin is dense and pure with dark fruit and the energy and tension that the top wines for this vineyard feature. 95/A
