David Duband characterized the amount of production in 2015 as “rather good.”
As with the 2016s discussed in the prior posts, these are very elegant wines, stressing the finesse more than most and light on the palate. They they may not be to the taste of all.
The estate has been certified organic since 2006.
As mentioned previously, the same wines may also be found under the François Feuillet label.
2015 Bourgogne-Hautes Côtes de Nuits Cuvée Louis Auguste Pinot Noir
This wine is medium-light, pure, and charming with red fruits. 87/A-
2015 Gevrey-Chambertin
The Gevrey is 80% from vineyards in Brochon, the northernmost part of the appellation. The wine features strawberry aromas and flavors with good length. This is an elegant Gevrey. 89/A-
2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges
Duband’s village Nuits has dark, spicy fruit aromas. The dark fruits continue in the mouth, which is light, airy, and chalky. Duband’s current preference for very elegant style certainly comes through here. The vines here are in the Charmotte, Saint-Julien, and Plateaux lieux-dits. 89+/A-
2015 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbè
The Morey-Clos Sorbè has spicy dark fruit aromas. The mouth shows dark fruit and is light, airy, and chalky with outstanding length. 92/A
2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers
The Nuits-Pruliers shows minerality and Pruliers structure with depth, pure dark fruit, and length. 93/A
2015 Latricières-Chambertin
I found the Latricières-Chambertin to be very relaxed and lacking the usual energy of that vineyard. The wine has red fruits and is light with plenty of finesse. 91/B
