Not to be confused with the better-known Domaine Christophe & Fils. The wines here can be found for very little money and deliver well above what their prices would suggest.
Christophe PATRICE
2020 Petit Chablis
This is a fine version of Petit Chablis with minerality and clarity. There’s sufficient grip here, but even more would have been appreciated. This wine can easily hold its own with a large portion of Chablis. 13% stated alcohol. DIAM3 closure. 87/A-
2020 Chablis
This classic Chablis is medium-weight with a relaxed, elegant feel in the mouth, refreshing acidity, and lemony aromas and flavors. 13% stated alcohol. DIAM3 closure. 89/A-
2020 Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard
Beauregard is one of the coldest Chablis premiers crus, and so one to watch as global warming continues. This is a medium-weight wine with density and lemon drop aromas and flavors supported by good acidity. The wine drinks well now and should age well for 5-10 years, maybe more. DIAM5 closure. 13% stated alcohol. 90/B+
2021 Petit Chablis
Not unlike the 2020 version there’s minerality here, a some fatness to the body, and perhaps just a little less acidity than I (an acid freak) would have desired. DIAM3 closure. 12.5% stated alcohol. 87/A-
2021 Chablis
This is a correct Chablis with a good acidic backbone and plenty of concentration to go with the minerality. It was bottled early. DIAM3 closure. 12.5% stated alcohol. 88(+)/B+
2021 Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard
This wine is lemony in aroma and flavor with good acidity but also some creaminess to its medium-light body. It drinks well already and should last for 5-10 years. DIAM5 closure. 13% stated alcohol. 90/B+
2022 Petit Chablis
Patrice is consistent in making an attractive Petit Chablis for current consumption, probably best as an aperitif. The wine has roundness, even a little fat, to go with spicy golden fruits and a hint of tropicality, minerality, and enough acidity to give a little bite. Nothing deep here, just simple enjoyment. DIAM1 closure. 12.5% stated alcohol. 88/A
2022 Chablis
The wine is medium-weight with firmness and minerality, but it is still rather closed. DIAM3 closure. 12.5% stated alcohol. 87(+)/B
2022 Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard
This wine is medium-light in weight, has white flower aromas, a silky texture, some minerality, and citric fruit. It is a good, attractive, typical Chablis. DIAM5 closure. 12.5% stated alcohol. 91/A-
