Domaine François LAMARCHE (Vosne-Romanée) -- 2017 Tasted from Barrel Samples


Harvesting began on 7 September. Malo-lactic fermentations began in January, which was late, but then they were classic. Alcohols are a maximum of 13.5%, which is for grands crus. There was very little chaptalization. 


2017 Bourgogne Passetoutgrains
Light smooth, grapy, simple (83-85)

2017 Bourgogne  Pinot Noir
Pretty red fruits, smooth, simple. (84-86)

2017 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
Similar to Bourgogne with a bit more firmness. (84-86)

2017 Vosne-Romanée
Medium light, spicy, red fruits, good length, round tannins, some firmness. (86-88)

2017 Vosne-Romanée   1er Cru  Les Chaumes
Darker fruit than Vosne; chunky, more weight and power, some rusticity. (87-89)

2017 Vosne-Romanée  1er Cru  Les Suchots
Darker fruit, some Suchots trufflieness, good concentration, medium-weight, long. Some spice. (90-93)

2017 Vosne-Romanée  1er Cru  La Croix Rameau
Dense, dark, concentrated fruit, medium-weight, good depth. (91-93)

2017 Vosne-Romanée   1er Cru  Les Malconsorts
Dark fruit, round tannins for Malconsorts, good length, concentration, finesse that is not usually there in Malconsorts. (92-94)

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges  1er Cru   Les Cras
Good depth, concentration with tannins but overall elegance. Dark fruits. Will need some time, but promising. (91-93)

2017 Echézeaux
Good depth and concentration to dark fruits, Echézeaux sensuality, of texture but needs time to come into focus. (92-95)

2017 Clos de Vougeot
Medium-weight, some spiciness, elegance of the vintage, good length, dark fruits. (92-94)

2017 Grands-Echézeaux
Grands-Echézeaux licorice, firmness, density, good tannins, excellent depth. (94-96)

2017 La Grande Rue
Good concentration and depth. Reddish fruit, long, good completeness. Roundness. Excellent length in mouth.  (94-97)
