2021 Wachau Rieslings and a 2017 and 2020 -- Kimberg, Kreuzberg, Silberichl, Vom Stein from Eder, Fischengruber, Fischer, Nikolaihof, Sigl

Finishing up the Wachau Rieslings, here including a couple of non-2021 wines.

EDER WACHAU

2020 (Mautern) Silberbichl Riesling Smaragd

Medium-light, good penetration to lemony fruit. Good length. Give it a few years. 92/A

Georg FISCHENGRUBER

2021 (Rosatz) Kimberg Riesling Smaragd

Lemon drop mouth, medium-light in weight, good concentration, depth. 92/A

Josef FISCHER

2021 (Rosatz) Kimberg Riesling Smaragd

Lemony, medium-weight, citric. 91/A-

2021 (Rosatz) Kreuzberg Riesling Smaragd

Good acidic attack with medium-weight, citric fruit, medium-light, good energy, drive. 93/A

NIKOLAIHOF

2017 (Mautern) Vom Stein Riesling Smaragd

Disappointingly soft and unfocused. I don’t know what happened here — Nikolaihof is one of my favorite producers in the whole world. Perhaps a bad sample? 86/D

SIGL

2021 (Rosatz) Kimberg Riesling Smaragd

Lemon, moderate acidity, medium-weight-plus. 90/B+
