Finishing up the Rheinhessen and about to begin the Pfalz:

BATTENFELD-SPANIER

2021 (Nieder-Flörsheim) Frauenberg Riesling GG

Similar to Kirchenstück in being dusty, stony and nobly austere, a bit more flesh and white fruit here. 93/A

2021 (Hohen-Sülzen) Kirchenstück Riesling GG

Dusty, stony nose. Pure, linear, penetrating, nobly austere. 93/A

2021 (Mölsheim) Zellerweg am Schwarzen Herrgott Riesling GG

The most (nobly) austere of the Battenfeld-Spanier trio, perhaps too dry for some, and today not as expressive as the other two. 90/B+
