This is one of the less-well-known parts of the Pfalz, but these are excellent producers making very fine wines.

Philipp KUHN

2021 (Kallstadt) Saumagen Riesling GG

Dusty, white fruits, good firmness, just not the concentration and the energy of the Rings Saumagen, but very good, nonetheless. 92/A

PFEFFINGEN

2021 (Ungstein) Herrenberg Riesling GG

Crisp, pure, good concentration, depth, vibrant, green berry fruit. 93+/A

2021 (Ungstein) Weilberg Riesling GG

Pure, crisp, clear, intense, driven, energetic. 93(+)/A

RINGS

2021 (Kallstadt) Saumagen Riesling GG

Dusty nose with deep, intense, spicy, stony aromas. Pure, light, concentrated, energetic, fresh, white fruits. 94+/A

2021 (Ungstein) Annaberg Riesling GG

Pure, light, intense, dusty, penetrating, energetic, nobly austere. 93(+)/A

2021 (Ungstein) Weilberg Riesling GG

Crisp, rounder than Pfeffingen’s Weilberg, clear, penetrating. 93/A

Karl SCHAEFER

2021 (Ungstein) Herrenberg Riesling GG

Spicy nose. Medium-weight, clear, green berry fruit, a certain lightness and firmness. 93/A

2021 (Ungstein) Weilberg Riesling GG

Not as sensual as some of the 2021s, but crisp, clear, stony. 93/A

2021 (Dürkheim) Michelsberg Riesling GG

Stony, pure, crisp, a bit dusty. Good length. 93/A
