2021 Mosel Riesling GG Part IV: Doctor, Domprobst, Himmelreich, Johannisbrünnchen Josephshöfer, Lay, from von Kesselstatt, Loosen, and Wegeler

 

Notable in this group is the Josephshöfer, completely different from the 2020, which I found troubling.

2021 (Graach) Josephshöfer Riesling GG

Dense, pure, penetrating, glazed yellow fruits, crystalline, outstanding. 94/A





Dr. LOOSEN


All the Dr. Loosen wines were tasted from cask samples.


2021 (Graach) Domprobst Riesling GG 

Round, not as clear as the Himmelreich, but with more breadth. Concentrated. 91(+?)/A-


2021 (Graach) Himmelreich Riesling GG 

Pure, crisp, clear, airy, intense, long, penetrating. 93/A


2021 (Bernkastel) Johannsbrünnchen Riesling GG 

Spicy, yellow fruits nose. Medium-light, penetrating, good acidity, yellow fruits. Long, dense. 93/A


2021 (Bernkastel) Lay Riesling GG 

Less expressive than the Johannisbrünnchen; dense, clear. 90(+)/B+

2021 (Bernkastel) Doctor Riesling GG 

Round, deep, generous, Doctor character. Good length. 92/A
