Here we are in the northern part of the Pfalz, essentially the same region as the southern Rheinhessen with only a political boundary separating them.

KNIPSER

2020 (Dirmstein) Mandelpfad Riesling GG

Ripe but austere, simple, just not showing as well today as I would expect. 88?/B-

2020 (Laumersheim) Steinbuckel Riesling GG

Somewhat austere, firm, not voluptuous but penetrating. 91(+)/A-

Philipp KUHN

2021 (Zell) Schwarzer Herrgott Riesling GG

Dusty, firm, white fruits, good length, drive, limestone austerity. 93/A

2021 (Laumersheim) Kirschgarten Riesling GG

Fruitier than the Steinbuckel but still with the limestone austerity to the texture, this is somewhat citric in flavor. 92(+)/A

2021 (Laumersheim) Steinbuckel Riesling GG

Spicy green apple with a bit of kiwi, firm, some penetration, limestone austerity. 92+/A
