Moving to the northern part of Rheinhessen, less prestigious for Pinot Noir than the Wonnegau in the south, but still producing wines of interest.



KÜHLING-GILLOT


2020 (Oppenheim) Kreuz Spätburgunder GG 

Fresh, clear, somewhat energetic dark berry fruit. Medium-light body but good concentration. 89/B




J. NEUS


2020 (Ingelheim) Horn Spätburgunder GG 

Nose still has a bit of fermentation, but mouth is light, pure, and fresh with red fruits, nice energy. 89(+)/B


2020 (Ingelheim) Pares Spätburgunder GG

Somewhat darker fruit than Horn, more depth and concentration, good energy. 90+/B+




WAGNER-STEMPEL


2020 (Siefersheim) Heerkretz Spätburgunder GG 

Mineral nose. Light body, mineral red fruits, a bit of tannin. Some charm here. 88/B-
