These are four very good producers, worth keeping an eye out for.
Jean-Michel GUILLON
Guillon has become one of my favorite producers in Gevrey-Chambertin.
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Champonnets vieilles vignes
This excellent wine has dark and red fruits, medium weight, concentration, minerality, depth, and purity. (92-94)
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Petite Chapelle
The Gevrey-Petite Chapelle is dense and pure with the energy one expects from this vineyard. (93-95)
Domaine HERESTZYN-MAZZINI
My recent experience with this estate is not extensive, but I have been favorably impressed by those wines I have come by.
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière
This Gevrey-Perrière displays good intensity and depth with purity and minerality for its red and dark fruits. (91-94)
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Goulots
Les Goulots is uphill from Champeaux and at the northern limit of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. It is a cold climate and those factors combine to give this wine minerality, freshness, lightness, energy, and tension. (92-94)
Domaine BERTHAUT-GERBET
A combination of the long-excellent Berthaut estate in Fixin and the Gerbet estate in Vosne-Romanée, together with a new generation, this estate appears to have a promising future, although these wines were not quite as good as some others I tasted from the same vineyards in 2017.
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers
This Gevrey-Cazetiers is smooth and has freshness, although the red and dark fruits could used a bit more precision. (90-93)
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques
This wine has pretty dark fruits, but lacks the energy that I expect from top Lavaux Saint-Jacques. (90-92)
Domaine DUROCHÉ
2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques
I tasted but this single wine from Duroché. It shows dark fruit, some minerality and some energy, and good precision. It is a good wine, but like the Berthaut-Gerbet example above, is not quite in the top tier for this vineyard. (91-93)
