There are wonderful wines here in 2017. Especially notable are the dazzling wines from Fürst, a splendid recovery from what I found to be a disappointing 2016 vintage.

Still some reduction in nose, but floral coming through. Dark berry fruit, light body, good penetration and depth, good intensity. 90+/A-
2017 (Klingenberg) Schlossberg Spätburgunder GG
Reduced nose at first becomes floral with air. Medium-light, smooth, dark berry fruit, Could use a bit more definition. Moderate acidity. 89/B+

Spicy cinnamon, rose nose with excellent depth. Dark berry fruit, great finesse, good depth and penetration. Chambolle, maybe even Musigny-like. 94/A+
2017 (Bürgstadt) Hundsrück Spätburgunder GG
Floral nose. Medium-light, smooth, elegant, red berry fruit, excellent length in mouth. Lovely, refined. 93/A

Floral, perfumed nose. Precise red cherries, medium-light, good depth and precision, nice acidity. 92(+)/A

Touch of reduction in nose. Intense, firm, deep, medium-light, dark fruits without minerality. Good penetration. 90/A-
